the Corrz

The stunning Celtic sounds of one of the most famous and talented Irish families recreated to perfection. Tracy and Lisa McAlpine front the band, as Andrea and Sharon Corr, with eldest sister Caroline on drums and percussion. Their cousin Jon, as Jim Corr, completes the quartet and along with two backing musicians, form an amazing and authentic live tribute show recreating the sights and unique Celtic sounds of 'The Corrs' to perfection.

The Corrz started a 50-date UK tour in late January 2001 which is continuing to the present day due to popular demand.

This UK based musical family got together in 1997, the three sisters, Caroline, Lisa and Tracy, realised that 'blood is thicker than water' and that a family collaboration was an excellent way of combining their individual musical careers. This sparked the beginning of what is now considered one of the most successful and accurate tribute shows that the world has ever seen....

Incorporating all traditional Irish instruments such as the bodhran, the tin whistle and the violin, this six piece live band take you on a Celtic journey through three albums, 'Forgiven Not Forgotten' 'Talk On Corners'  'In Blue' and performing all the hits such as- 'So Young' 'Irresistible' 'Runaway' 'What Can I Do' 'Dreams' and 'Breathless', mixed with traditional Irish tunes the likes of 'Haste To The Wedding' and 'Toss The Feather'.

Tracy McAlpine

Tracy is the youngest of the three sisters. She, like her two elder sisters, followed in her parents' footsteps and took up a career in music. Tracy has spent most of her life on the stage, starting when she was five years old, performing with the Irish Academy of Dance. However, Tracy eventually decided to swap her dance shoes for a microphone. After several months and lots encouragement & support from the family, Tracy got her first job as a vocalist with 'Cava'. They were a band who played their own brand of Irish Rock music. She spent three years with them, after which she had established herself as a vocalist and lyricist. She then went on to join a well-established rock band, as a backing vocalist. They toured the UK & Europe extensively. Despite her success Tracy missed family life and decided to return home to concentrate on writing her own material. After she had spent several months recording, Lisa contacted her.

"I saw the Corrs on a TV programme about 5 years ago. I had never seen or heard of them before, so when they finished the interview and went onstage I was surprised to see that the line up was very close to that of my own family. Since then I have followed the band's progress with great interest. I love Irish music & more importantly I communicate with the lyrics & feel the emotion when I sing their songs."

Lisa McAlpine

Lisa is the second eldest of the girls. She began learning to play the violin at a very early age. However she decided to put it aside to concentrate on her academic studies. It was not until Lisa was in her early twenties that she decided to return to her first love, the violin. For the next 5 years she performed with a six-piece country rock band, travelling the world. During a tour of Germany in the summer of 1996 the band were receiving more and more requests to perform material by 'The Corrs'. Lisa also found herself frequently compared to Sharon Corr. She returned from the tour determined to find out more about the band. It was only then that it became apparent that the line up of the band was very similar to that of her own family. The idea was born and the next stage was discussing it with Tracy and Caroline.

"The Corrs have brought a much needed sense of style and sophistication to the charts. They have also raised the profile of the violin, incorporating it into in pop music in a way that hasn't been done before. I really enjoy playing their style of music, I find it very emotive."

Caroline Boaden-McAlpine

Caroline is the eldest of the girls and was born into the world tapping her fingers. She started her career at the age of 12 and with encouragement from her dad she began to work alongside him. He introduced Caroline to the world of Jazz. During the years that followed Caroline gained experience of playing a wide variety of music. An insatiable appetite for learning resulted in her securing a place at Leeds College of Music. After leaving college, she went on to work and tour with artists such as Pete King (Jazz Sax), Sylvan Richardson (Bass ex. Simply Red), Jimmy Tenor (Underground funk/jazz) and Jimmy James & the Vagabonds. After appearing on the Jay Leno show in Los Angeles in 1994, Caroline returned home to spend time working as a session musician in London. She always enjoyed spending time visiting her parents in the country & it was during a vacation back in 1997 with her sister Lisa that the idea of the band was proposed. The opportunity to work with her family was an offer she couldn't refuse.

"It's very refreshing to see a band that are respected and enjoyed by so many people for their talent as well as good looks! I think they are an inspiration, especially to any female musicians seeking a place in the industry."

Jon Wright

Jon, Cousin to Lisa, Caroline & Tracy, Jon is the youngest member of the band. He started his musical career very early on in life, receiving his first guitar on his 4th birthday. Jon's first break in the music industry came a few years later when he was chosen to perform with the newly established pop band 'Goal'. This proved to be valuable experience, as it gave him the opportunity to show his potential in writing and producing. In 1996 Jon decided to expand his musical knowledge and began to study for a diploma in popular music at Leeds

College of Music. During this time he concentrated on writing and performing his own material, working solo throughout the UK. It was at an impromptu performance at a family gathering that Jon's exceptional talent as a guitarist was realized. From then on it was inevitable that Jon was to join the girls.

"I have always enjoyed the Corrs, they're a great band with lots of musical ideas. I think that Jim in many ways has been an inspiration to me. I know what its like working with your family, especially when they're all girls! I respect any family who can live and work together."
