So here I am writing a quick biography on this band! 'Complete Madness'. To be honest given enough time and I could probably write a small novel, there is so much to tell, most of it not printable.

There have been a lot of people who have helped the band to get to where we are now and I could not possibly mention them all, but you know who you are and your help will never be forgotten.

If I'm honest I could not give an exact date to when the name Complete Madness came into force. The band were originally called "Beat The System" which started around 1989, we mainly did all types of crappy music of which to this day some of it I am totally embarrassed about.

Around 1991 we started finding a direction and when singer Steve Higgins left I took over the lead vocals, yes believe it or not I used to be the guitarist in the band along with Derek the currant guitarist. We were basically doing new wave material such as U2, Big Country, Clash, Alarm etc, it was great stuff but it did not always work.

At the end of 1992 the then bass player 'Cliffy' suggested doing a couple of Madness numbers, being a closet ska fan I was overjoyed and like a rocket it took off, within 8 months we had got a full set of Madness and other ska related numbers.

In 1993 we felt that "Beat The System" was not the best name to move the band forward and into other areas besides Yorkshire, it was now we changed it to Complete Madness, we felt this name said it all, so simple but straight to the point. Within 12 months and with new management we were playing further a field.

By 1996 the pressures of work and being in a band were too much, so we decided to go professional (sounds good). By now a few band members had left and been replaced one being my good friend 'Cliffy' who had some great ideas and probably helped make the band what it is today (thanks Steve).

It's always difficult to say which was the best band line up we have had because they were all good, from Steve Allen to Chrissy Boy and Cliffy to Foggy and from Curly to Brett.

I've got to admit that being one of the original members along with Derek that this is a very tiring job at times, the travelling especially is a killer, but when you've done most of the gigs you know it's worth it.

The current line up of the band is myself (vocals), Derek (guitar), Will (sax), C.J. (keys), and Jacko (drums), hopefully this will never change again.

The band plays everywhere in the U.K. from Butlins to Pontins and Chicago Rock to Jumpin Jaks, from ska festivals to working men's clubs and we also go over to the Republic of Ireland. A theatre tour is also on the cards very soon so keep looking for more details. So you can see there is no excuse for not seeing the band somewhere.

Thanks to all the people who have watched either 'Beat The System' or even better 'Complete Madness' over the last twenty years and I hope you keep coming back for more. I honestly don't know how much longer we have got left in this game but for now enjoy the ride.
